Dreamin Big Damask Divas Bloghop - Disney Autograph Book

No automatic alt text available.

If you came from Fromm the Heart blog, you are in the right place.  If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

One of the reasons I fell in love with Close to my Heart over 4 years ago was the patterns on their papers!  I STILL love the patterns they release and this paper packet, Dreamin Big, is a favorite of my customers right now.  I have been busy, not only still un-burying my craft room and garage from moving boxes, but also getting ready for a Spring Break trip to Walt Disney World.  On my to-do list is making an autograph book for my two boys.  The Dreamin Big Paper Pack has two pages of pocket scrapbooking cards you can cut out.  Pocket scrapbooking is fast and easy, and with my head spinning, I need fast and easy right now!  So read on to see a useful autograph book for Disney that my boys will be excited to look at and share with their friends (my Pinterest inspiration can be found at the Grey Luster Girl blog).

Dreamin' Big Paper Packet

This is the paper packet, double sided paper of coordinating prints and "zip strips" (the 1/2" printed strip, one side on each paper).  Note in the bottom of the photo is the two sheets of the pocket scrapbooking pages.  I cut them up....

Dreamin' Big Pocket Scrapbooking Pages
The pocket papers are double sided and can be turned to work horizontally or vertically, depending on what you need.

Mini Mix Album
(please ignore the corner that I damaged, this one was still in the package and I used the two good ones I had)

I had some of the Mini Mix Albums already.  And the good news for you if you want any, they are discontinued and now only $2.00!!!  Get these before they are gone!  The pages inside are brown kraft paper, vellum, and white cardstock.

I taped three sides of the pocket scrapbook paper, leaving the top open, added one of the Dreamin' Big Complements stickers and that's it.  Now I can slide in a FujiFilm Instax mini instant photo of the boys with a character.

My plan is to have the characters sign the vellum pages over top of the photo and photo pocket.  The kraft paper pages will be for my older son to journal a little about his day and my youngest to draw his own photos / characters.  And since the books are not huge I made pockets on both sides of the white pages.

And there you have it!  I will personalize the fronts of the books with the boys names and dates we are there.  I hope they love it and I can't wait to get and use my new FujiFilm Instax Mini 8 that I have been wishing for over a year now.  I think the boys will get a kick out of this.  I would love to hear what you think too.  Please let me know below!

The next blog on the list is Glitter on a Dime. Hope you have a great time on our hop and checking out all the creations using Dreamin' Big Paper Packet. If you get lost, just hop on over to the Damask Divas page for the full list.

Damask Divas Hello Lovely Paper February 2017 Blog Hop

If you came from Jen's Messy Studio, you are in the right place.  If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.
This month's featured paper is Hello Lovely (Item X7216B).  This paper is gorgeous with great variety in complementing patters and colors.  I love it.  I decided to use this paper to make a cute little bunting of love notes to my boys.

I had seen several people on Pinterest turn hearts into envelopes.  I thought this was super cute and that my boys would get a kick out of it.  The Hello Lovely Paper Packet is beautiful enough to display so I did!

Supplies you need include:
Hello Lovely Paper Packet (Item X7216B)
Blush Shimmer Trim (Item Z3313
Non-Stick Micro-tip Scissors (Item Z1836)
Bone Folder (Item Z1204)

I used my Cricut to make a cut file for the hearts with score lines.  However, you certainly do not need a Cricut.  You can simply cut hearts out and fold and press with the bone folder for a smooth edge.

I cut two per page so that I could have one of each patterned paper (the papers are double sided with a different print on each side).

I ended up with a pile of cut and scored hearts.

I then took the bone folder and folded the hearts as follows:

Easy, right???  I then cut a length of Blush Shimmer Trim (Item Z3313), tied the ends up, and hung the envelopes on the ribbon.

No glue, no fuss.  Just beautiful love notes on hearts!  If you are interested in this project and maybe even embellishing with more paper, stickers, or bling, you may be interested in saving money with the Hello Lovely Workshops Your Way (Item G1119) which comes with two sets of this patterned paper, white cardstock, the Blush Shimmer Trim, gold glitter gems, and coordinating stickers for $26.95.  You can also make scrapbook pages (free instructions available), Everyday Life quick scrapbooking, and cards if you love this paper and want more options.

Well, you made it to the end of this month's hop.  We hope you had as much fun browsing our creations as we had making them! Thanks so much for hopping with us--now go get your crafty on!

The More You Know....(the easier you craft): CTMH Ink Pads

Ever wonder why CTMH carries different types of Ink Pads? Do you need all of these? What kind do you need most? Read on!

Exclusive Inks™ stamp pads: Our Exclusive Inks™ stamp pads, including our Black Exclusive Inks pads, are water-based dye inks. The dye ink absorbs directly into your paper and allows the colors to blend easily with the material. They dry quickly and blend easily. These inks are recommended for most stamping projects, but not for projects where you plan on using watercolors or coloring with alcohol markers after stamping the image.

Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ stamp pad: Our Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ stamp pad is our archival ink offering. This pad quickly sets an image that you can then color in using watercolor pencils, watercolors, or water-based inks with the blending pen.

Exclusive Inks™ Mini Pigment Pad Sets: Pigment inks behave differently from dye inks, in that they settle on top of your material rather than soaking into it. This allows you to stamp lighter colors on darker materials and to keep the true color of the ink pad when stamping on another color. Though they take longer to dry, when dried, they work well for coloring in with your markers or watercolor inks, as the pigment inks will form a permanent bond and will resist blending when you color over them.

StazOn™ ink pad: StazOn™ is specifically formulated for stamping on non-porous materials. Because StazOn is solvent-based, this ink works well when stamping an image that you will later color over with watercolors, but it is not ideal for use with alcohol markers.

Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink pad: The Memento™ ink pad gives you another archival quality ink pad that works for any stamping project and can be used with alcohol markers, watercolors, or any of our other coloring options.

Now grab your ink pads and stamp some stuff up and get creative.  Try a new technique, and then share your results and images of CTMH products / designs here!

Bestill my heart with Base & Bling

Base & Bling Oval Additions
We’ve added more zing to the bling.
Base & Bling photo
You love your wearable crafts already, but did you know the beautiful Base & Bling line has expanded? We’ve added ovals and rectangles to the collection to really get your style in shape. For looks that speak to who you are, try gracing your creations with circle, square, oval, or rectangle pendants. Additionally, you might try your wrist with a brand new cuff available exclusively in the same attractive oval shape, in both faux antiqued silver and faux antiqued gold. The new style sheets and glass covers to fit the bases will top off all your projects with the perfect layer of protection and shimmer. Are you ready to supplement your sparkle? Do it today with the expanded Base & Bling collection.

Create your own style »

Have a girls birthday party coming up?  How about a jewelry making activity?  Even tweens and teens will love this keepsake.  Order the pendants, chains, stickers, and charms (all items but the chains come in multiples).  To adhere the glass covers, use the CTMH Liquid Glass adhesive.  Simply squeeze a small amount in the center of the flat side of the glass cover after you have adhered your sticker design.  The glue will spread automatically as you push the glass cover on and hold it for 10 - 30 seconds for it to fully adhere.

Tip 1: have some baby wipes handy to wipe any excess glue off of the sides for anyone that may have used too much glue.  But don't worry!  It dries clear.

Tip 2: use ribbon instead of the chains to save money and let the girls express their personal style even more.

Tip 3:  not just for girls, tweens, and teens!  This would make a lovely Mother's Day, birthday, cheer up, just because, or hello gift as well.

November SUPER lucky deals and giveaways!

November Is Your Lucky Month With Lucky 5
November is your lucky month, thanks to the Lucky 5 campaign! This campaign celebrates the five-year anniversary of Studio J®, with $5 print layouts all month long. But that is just one of the ways that you can luck out this month—when you place Studio J® print orders during November, you have a chance to win freebies. It could be a free accessory added to every fifth print order or one of five golden tickets redeemable for one of our brand new My Legacy™ D-ring albums, loaded with 10 top-load Memory Protectors™! In fact, the first golden ticket is already on its way to the first lucky winner—who will get the next one?

You could also win a new album loaded with Memory Protectors by creating beautiful layouts in Studio J and sharing the JPEG image—which comes free with every print order, or is available for separate purchase—on the Close To My Heart Facebook page, or on Instagram using the hashtag #ctmhlucky5. At the end of the month, we’ll review all the entries and choose five winners based on artistry and creativity.

Selected My Legacy™ Albums Now Available
We have now made the first of our new My Legacy™ album offerings available to order! The new albums you can start ordering are the Lagoon Chevron D-ring album (Z2090), the Black D-ring album (Z3034), and the new Black post-bound album (Z2094). The price for these albums is $34.95 USD/$38.50 CAD.

You will love the new and improved quality of these albums from the moment you get your hands on one. The posts in our post-bound offerings have been made easier to use, which will increase the convenience of your memory-keeping. On our D-ring albums, we have strengthened the rings to keep your memories secure for a long time. The covers are built using a sturdy rigid material, and the exteriors are covered with coated canvas. Because canvas is a natural fiber, you may occasionally get an album with small flecks of color in the design. Such flecks are not a defect, but just part of working with natural fibers.

As for the remaining styles of albums and our organizational totes, we still expect them to be available later this month. We are happy to be able to make some albums available and will continue to keep you updated on the progress of these other items.
