Balloon Ride Blog Hop Project

Welcome to the Balloon Ride Blog Hop!  If you came from The Leaf Studio, you are in the right place.  If you have just arrived here to see my post and stumbled upon our great Balloon Ride paper blog hop, you can go to the Damask Divas Balloon Hop page for the full list of participants and projects.

For the Balloon Ride blog hop, I was going to do something fancy, amazing, large scale because I LOVE this paper packet.  But, then the month of April flew by with so much going on, including my mom flying out to visit and taking her to Greece for a whole week (in addition to a few places closer to our home).  I ended up having to do my crafting project last minute.  That is just how it goes so often though, doesn't it?  My much quicker project is what you see pictured here.  I made a great mother's day card, though the sentiment could be used for many general card giving opportunities, including a great thank you card.  I am listing a number of items in the ‘what you need’ section here.  However, I used leftover scrap paper from my Balloon Ride Scrapbooking Workshop On The Go and a piece of Colonial White Cardstock.  All of the colors I used are available in the Paper Packet as well.  You can also change the sentiment if you have another stamp set you want to use and then fussy cut around it if there is not a coordinating Cricut image to cut for you.

Here is what you need to make this card:
My Acrylix™ Balloon Ride Workshop Stamp Set (D-size) (G1075)

How to:
1.     Cut the Colonial White Cardstock to 5"x7" and 7" x 10".  Emboss the 5" x 7" with the Quatrfoil embossing folder.  The 7" x 10" piece of paper is folded in half to form a 5" x 7" card.
2.     Cut a 5" x 1" strip of Crystal Blue Cardstock
3.     Cut a 3 1/2" x 7" piece of the hot air balloon print B&T duos paper from the Balloon Ride Paper Packet
4.     Use the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut a 2 ¼” <Rctngle7> (on page 55 of the accompanying booklet)
5.     Use the chocolate distressing ink pad along all of the edges of your cut pieces, except the card base.
6.     Attach the embossed paper to the front of your card base using the Bonding Memories Glue
7.     Attach the hot air balloon paper centered vertically onto the embossed card front.  I used the Tombow adhesive for this one.
8.     Stamp the border on the Crystal Blue paper using the Saddle Ink.  Stamp on the top edge, flip and then stamp along the bottom edge.  Attach using the Tombow adhesive.
9.     Stamp the sentiment in Sorbet Ink on the Cricut cut base.  Attach the sentiment using the 3D foam tape.
